Produce Section: Steven A. Marshall

If you look up "country rock star" in the dictionary, you probably won't find anything. But if such a thing did exist in the dictionary, then you would see a picture of Steven Marshall pouring beer on a blonde in a bikini. Steven is a true rock star. He is one of those guys that spends more time playing the guitar, writing songs, and getting wasted than sleeping. Imagine a country Lil Wayne with less tattoos.

The Brenham, TX native was born to be a country music legend. He joined a band at the tender age of 14 years old as a drummer. Yes you read that correctly, 14 years old. Even though it was his father's band, Steven had to prove himself to get the gig. He beat out every drummer that auditioned. side note: I would quite playing forever if an 14 year old kid took my spot in a band. By the time he was 15, he was touring around Texas with his father's band on the weekends. That then went to full time when his father would get requests from promoters to bring "the kid" with him or there's no deal. But his stint in his father's band only lasted a few years, because they couldn't see eye to eye. During a weekend trip to Mexico, Steven bumped into musician Doug Moreland. Doug was impressed by Steven's ability to play the drums and asked him to tour with his band. Steven accepted and toured the country with the Doug Moreland Band. But like any rock star, Steven was kicked out due to his attitude and problems with addiction. He was incarcerated several times before he realized his calling. He picked up a guitar while in prison and taught himself how to play simple chords. He began writing songs at a feverish pitch, and challenged himself with more difficult chord arrangements. Upon his release from, Steven linked up with some old musician friends and began to create a sound never heard before. He did the unthinkable. He blended deep rock lyrics and country music! The results were catastrophic! He now performs 7 days a week and is working on his first album due this fall. It is rumored that he is recording at Sugar Hill Studios and working with up and coming producers. Only time will tell the impact Steven will make in the music industry. Until then, listen to some of his earlier demo recordings below.
